Zion Lutheran Church Annual Pie Social Sunday, August 16th from 1 – 3pm   Co-Sponsored with the Arvon Township Historical Society.   Besides delicious and delectable pies we also will have ice cream Sunday’s and Banana Splits.

Copper Shores Outreach & Education is hosting CPR Training on Monday, August 17 and Monday, September 14 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Twin Lakes Volunteer Fire Department. Training costs $55 per person, with a maximum capacity of eight people.   The American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED/Blended Learning training program includes first aid, CPR and AED instruction in a preliminary online course (that will take about two hours to complete), followed by a hands-on, in-person skills session with trainers that will take about two hours.   Registration is open now at coppershores.org. Keweenaw Bay Ojibwa Community College is holding its third annual end-of-summer carnival on Thursday, Aug. 20, from 11 AM to 1 PM. The event will be held on the College’s Wabanung Campus at 770 N. Main St. in L’Anse. As always, this event is free and open to the public. Enjoy free food, family-friendly games and prizes, raffles, bounce houses for children of all ages, and more. Staff and faculty will be on hand to answer questions and assist with registration/applications for the Fall 2026 Semester. In case of rain, the carnival will move to Meadowbrook Arena.

Keweenaw National Historical Park will host a free program exploring how public history can broaden our understanding of what constituted an industrial landscape on Aug. 22 at 1 p.m. at its visitor center. The program, “Keweenaw Histories: Expanding Our Understanding of the Industrial Landscape Through Public History,” highlights research from Keweenaw Histories, an ongoing digital public history initiative hosted by the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire.
