Western UP Events

Better Together will meet on Thursday, September 10 at 9:30 at Zion Lutheran Church at 400 Ingot Street in Hancock.  The speaker will be Maura Leinonen and her topic will be, “Joyfully Following Jesus.”  Special music will be provided by Kristin Kytta of Chassell.  All area women are invited to attend this fun and inspiring event. A brunch will be served and there is a suggested donation of $10.  All proceeds over the cost of the event will be donated to local charities. Copper Shores Outreach & Education is hosting CPR Training on Monday, September 14 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Twin Lakes Volunteer Fire Department. Training costs $55 per person, with a maximum capacity of eight people.   The American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED/Blended Learning training program includes first aid, CPR and AED instruction in a preliminary online course (that will take about two hours to complete), followed by a hands-on, in-person skills session with trainers that will take about two hours.   Registration is open now at coppershores.org. Registration will close when it is full.
