• Marquette – Youth Sailing Lessons

    Youth Sailing Lessons Offered this Summer   The Marquette Junior Yacht Club will again offer youth sailing lessons this summer to the public. The program will provide the basic fundamentals of sailing for beginner ages 8-17 and expanded skill training for returning intermediate sailors. Instruction takes place both on and off the water by certified sailing instructors at the Marquette Yacht Club location, E Main Street, Marquette.     Eagle Mine to offer Free Public Tours of Facilities CHAMPION, Mich., April 22, 2025—A series of public tours of Eagle Mine facilities will be offered during the summer. Tour locations will alternate between the Eagle Mine in Big Bay and the Humboldt Mill in Champion on Thursdays from July to September.     Baraga County’s 2025 Lumberjack Days are two action-packed days that begin on Wednesday, July 3rd at 6:30pm with music, street dancing and the introduction of the honorees. July 4th celebrations begin at 8:00am with a 5k run; there is also a pancake breakfast at Baraga Area Schools from 8am-12pm. Following that is a flag raising ceremony, children’s parade and games. Beginning at 2:00pm is the parade line-up, with the main parade beginning at 3:30pm. Afterwards is live music at the American Legion post 444. Beginning at dusk are fireworks over Keweenaw Bay.
