    Eagle Mine to offer Free Public Tours of Facilities CHAMPION, Mich., April 22, 2025—A series of public tours of Eagle Mine facilities will be offered during the summer. Tour locations will alternate between the Eagle Mine in Big Bay and the Humboldt Mill in Champion on Thursdays from July to September. Tours of the Eagle Mine will be offered on the following dates from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: June 19, July 10, July 24, August 7, August 21, September 4, and September 18.   • Dollar Bay Preschool Registration is OPEN

    Dollar Bay Preschool registration is open! Children who will be 4 years old by September 1 are eligible to be a part of this outstanding program. The Dollar Bay Preschool follows the school year calendar, from the second week of September through the first week of June, and class is in session 8:25-3:30 Monday through Thursday each week, with free breakfast, snack, and lunch provided every day. Interested parents can simply go to the Dollar Bay-Tamarack City School website for the links to register.   • Houghton HS Alumni Assoc. Breakfast Fundraiser

    The Houghton High School  Alumni Association will hold a Pancake & Sausage breakfast, on Saturday August 2nd, 2025, serving 8:30am – 11:30am, featuring Vollwerth’s sausage, traditional and blueberry pancakes, and Shelby’s Finnish pancakes, w fruit, and beverages, adults $10, reduced pricing for youth at the door. No cost for preschool children.   A Silent Pie & Gift Basket auction will also take place, people can place a bid on a variety of luscious  homemade pies baked and donated by alumni representing their class era.  The event is open to the public. Tickets are available in advance from Pancake Breakfast committee members and HHSAA officers.
