This book group is for people who enjoy reading nonfiction that read like fiction. May 27, 2026. 7:00 PM Peter White Library Five seniors from Marquette Senior High School will present their 12th and final performance of Painless, the Opioid Musical at Peter White Library on Wednesday May 27, 2026. They performed this 7 times at MSHS during the school day in March, 2 times for the community and once each at Westwood High School and Negaunee High School in May. It was written by a University of Michigan Musical Theater student.

Thursday May (7, 28)  10:30 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.  Heritage Room Peter White Public Library. Join Tech Coach Christine Ault in a group setting for a series of special topics that go in-depth about different digital tools on your personal device and in the library. Tuesdays & Thursdays June (9, 11, 16, 18, 23, 25, 30), 2026.  11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  Peter White Public Library Lower Level Lobby.  PWPL is once again partnering with Feeding America West Michigan in the Gather2Grow summer meals program and will serve as a pickup site for shelf stable meals. Available at no cost to all youth (18 and under) and disabled adults up to age 26. Fridays, May (1, 8, 15, 22, 29) 2026.  Noon – 1:00 p.m.  Peter White Public Library, Heritage Room.  In partnership with several area organizations, this hour-long event offers a safe space to pause, reflect, and build meaningful connections with others who are committed to cultivating kindness in our world. Each week, a different organization takes the lead, with experienced educators and leaders facilitating. Thursday and Friday, May 29-30 7:30 p.m Panowski Black Box Theatre Northern Michigan University Theatre & Dance will usher in Pride Month with a Drag Cabaret at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, May 29-30, in the Panowski Black Box Theatre. Thursday’s show will be followed by an opening night party with appetizers, beverages and a meet and greet with the cast and team   Tickets are $25 for the general public; $22 for NMU faculty/staff, seniors and military; $15 for students; and $5 for NMU students.
