Mediate Marquette and PWPL have collaborated to offer a weekly, in-person mindfulness meditation program. The sessions begin at 6:00 pm followed by a period of fellowship. Dr. Debra Smith, a Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher and psychologist, will deliver brief talks exploring various aspects of meditation and its impact on our lives. These talks will take place on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays, while longer meditation sessions are scheduled for the remaining Tuesdays.   • NMU Orchestra, Choirs Present ‘Baroque to the Future’

    The Northern Michigan University Orchestra directed by Barbara Rhyneer and the NMU Choirs directed by Erin Colwitz will present a concert titled “Baroque to the Future” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, in Reynolds Recital Hall. This concert will showcase orchestral and choral performances from the Baroque Era and works from the 21st century. Special features of this concert include the “Guitar Concerto” by Vivaldi with Christopher Schoelen as soloist; Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus”; and “Fields of Cloverland,” an anthem for the Upper Peninsula, by Timothy DeMarte, arranged for choir and orchestra by Barbara Rhyneer and featuring the local folk ensemble The Knockabouts.
