Monday, April 13,  7:30 p.m.  Reynolds Recital Hall Northern Michigan University’s Music Department will present its final ensemble concerts of the semester featuring Symphonic Band & Wind Ensemble, Trombone Choir and the NMU Orchestra. The University Choir and Arts Chorale will also join the Marquette Choral Society for two performances later this month. Admission to all but the latter is free.  The NMU Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble Concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 13, in Reynolds Recital Hall, under the direction of Steven Riley. The program features 19 graduating students, 12 pieces and three guest artists:

Tuesday, April 14, 2026.  12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.  Peter White Public Library Shiras Room.  A book group for readers, who love to cook. With a focus on food-themed literature, the group explores a variety of books from cookbooks to culinary memoirs. Participants can enjoy tasty treats inspired by the book of the month while sharing their thoughts and connecting with others who share their passion for both literature and food. Tuesday, April 14 5-7 p.m.  The Negaunee Public Library is offering a monthly culture program for older children and teens. The April program will be about Guinea, a country in West Africa, and will be held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 14. A guest speaker will share insights about the culture and traditions of Guinea. This is an excellent opportunity for kids, ages 8 and up, and young adults to learn about cultures worldwide. The event is free.
