    GITIGE he/she gardens   VOLUNTEER WITH US Debweyendan Believe in it People’s Gardens Saturdays:  9 am – Noon   2026 Season Dates June 27 July 11 & 25 August 8 & 22 September 12 & 26 October 10 & 24   Lots of ways to help with gardening, including mulching, weeding, harvesting, pruning, and watering.  In appreciation of your assistance, you can select a high-quality garden tool or a gardening book whenever you engage.  Everyone is welcome, including beginners.   Our community Teaching Garden, located at 16037 Brewery Road in L’Anse, is cared for by the KBIC natural Resources Department.

    The Ontonagon Rural Electrification Association (REA) is preparing for its annual member meeting. The meeting will take place on Saturday, June 27th at 10 am at the Chassell High School. There will be lunch provided and prizes, but please note that this meeting is for members of the REA only.

    Tuesdays & Thursdays June (9, 11, 16, 18, 23, 25, 30), 2026.  11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  Peter White Public Library Lower Level Lobby.  PWPL is once again partnering with Feeding America West Michigan in the Gather2Grow summer meals program and will serve as a pickup site for shelf stable meals. Available at no cost to all youth (18 and under) and disabled adults up to age 26.   • PWPL Presents: Drop-in Meditation with Meditate Marquette

    Tuesdays, June (2, 9, 16, 23, 30) 2026.  6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Fridays, June (5, 12, 26) 2026.  Noon – 1:00 p.m. Peter White Public Library Heritage Room.  Mediate Marquette and PWPL have collaborated to offer two in-person mindfulness meditation programs each week this summer. Sessions will include a combination of talks, seated meditation, and movement practices.
