    Better Together will meet on Thursday, November 13 at 9:30 at the Zion Lutheran Church on 400 Ingot Street in Hancock. The speakers will be Marlain, Jonathan and Felix Birdi, missionaries to India.  Their presentation will be “How lives are changed through Jesus.”  Special music will be provided by recording artist Yvonne Blake from Ontonagon. All area women are cordially invited to attend this inspiring and fun event.   • November Feeding America Mobile Pantry at Silver Creek

    Marquette -Silver Creek Church and Silver Creek Thrift are partnering with Feeding America West Michigan to host a Mobile Food Pantry. Taking place on Thursday, November 13. Food distribution will begin at 10:00am and continue while supplies last or until 11:30am. Food will be available for approximately 550 families. Due to changes with Feeding America West Michigan, proxy pickup will be limited. This will be a drive-thru event with directions given by parking lot attendants. Guests are asked to remain in their cars and have adequate space prepared in their trunk or back seat in advance to allow the distribution

The exhibit offers an immersive art experience through both physical and digital mediums that aims to provoke, move, amuse, and shake its audience. This exhibition is curated by Snake House VT, an artist-run collaborative based in Vermont that is dedicated to supporting underrepresented artists through exhibitions, performances, screenings and other events and projects.   • 25th Annual Sonderegger Symposium “Great Lakes Maritime History”

    The Beaumier U.P. Heritage Center at Northern Michigan University will host the 25th annual Sonderegger Symposium, which features several presentations revolving around Upper Peninsula history. The theme of this year’s event is Above and Below the Surface: Maritime History of the Great Lakes. It will be held on Friday, Nov. 14, in the Northern Center Ballroom IV. Admission is free, and includes a light lunch at noon.   Sonderegger25 is inspired by the 50th anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald on Lake Superior, but will deal with far more than just that tragic event.
