  • 2025 Michigan Tech Parade of Nation

    The community is invited to gather for the 2025 Michigan Tech Parade of Nations on Saturday, September 20, starting at 11:00 a.m. This year’s event promises vibrant cultural displays, music, food, and performances celebrating the many nations represented in the Keweenaw.   🎉 The Parade The parade will begin at the J.R. Van Pelt and Opie Library on the Michigan Tech campus. Marchers will travel down College Avenue and Shelden Avenue through downtown Houghton, passing in front of the Ambassador Restaurant, before looping back along Lakeshore Drive and concluding at the Dee Stadium.   🎶 Entertainment at the Dee After

  • PWPL Presents: Halloween Costume Swap

    Saturday, September 20th. 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.  Peter White Public Library Community Room.  PWPL will be accepting gently used & clean Halloween costumes and dress-up apparel starting August 4 for this swap. Families can attend the costume swap on Saturday Sept. 20 and look for a new-to-you costume! No admission charge, costumes are all free.   • Big Bay Fall Fest

    On Saturday, September 20, 2025 (11am–4pm), we’ll be hosting the Big Bay Fall Fest at (what will be a newly renovated) Draver Park. This free, family-friendly festival has grown into one of the most anticipated fall celebrations in Marquette County, with over 1,200 attendees last year.   • Copper Harbor – Keweenaw Lions Club Fall Superior Cruise

    The Keweenaw Lions Club is now selling tickets for their Lake Superior Cruise fundraiser aboard the Isle Royale Queen IV.  Limited tickets are $30 each and are already selling quickly.  Cruise will depart from the Isle Royale Queen Dock in Copper Harbor, Sunday September 21.  The two hour tour will begin boarding at 1:30pm with a 2:00pm departure.  Destination is weather dependent.  Snacks, coffee and soft drinks will be served on board, BYOB.  For tickets, call Marty at (906) 281-5557.  All proceeds will go toward local charities.   If you are unable to make the voyage but would like to make

  • “1875: Peter White at St Paul’s” 150th Anniversary Celebration Event

    St. Paul’s Episcopal Church of Marquette will host “1875: Peter White at St. Paul’s” on Sunday September 21, 2025 at 4:00 pm at the church at 201 East Ridge Street in Marquette.  The event is a celebration of the history of St. Paul’s during the 150th anniversary of our sanctuary building.  Jim Koski of Q107 radio and the Marquette Historical Society will host the event which features an appearance by “Peter White” himself to help narrate and explain his family’s history with St. Paul’s.
