Now in its seventh year, Classic Cars on Third Street is a community event presented by the Marquette Downtown Development Authority in partnership with the Women’s Center of Marquette County. The show runs on North Third Street, from Ohio Street to Park Street. Street closures will run from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

42nd Annual Old Victoria Craft Fair Visit the Old Victoria Historical Site this Sunday, August 17th to experience a piece of history at the 42nd Annual Craft Fair. The free event will take place on the grounds of the historic copper mining village just outside of Rockland from 10 am to 5 pm. Three of the four restored cabins and the sauna will be open for self-guided tours free of charge for the event. The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is seeking public input on the Marina Fiscal Policy. City Staff have recognized a significant increase in marina-related costs and capital improvements. To offset costs and mitigate the financial burden on the City, incremental increases in fees are being proposed. Those who are interested in providing input may do so during the two public comment periods at the August Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee meeting. Copper Country Community Band Announces Summer Concert Series The Copper Country Community Band is proud to present a series of five summer concerts across the Keweenaw. Under the direction of Amy Johnson and Micah Erickson, this all-volunteer group of approximately 35 musicians from across the Copper Country will bring audiences a lively mix of marches, classic concert band repertoire, and popular medleys. All concerts begin at 7:00 p.m. – All concerts are free to attend. Tuesday, August 19th at 4pm, the Gemini Moon band will be at the library to perform! Gemini Moon performs guitar-driven originals with male/female lead vocals and harmonies, as well as fresh interpretations of classic and modern covers. The group is influenced by 90s alternative and 60s/70s classic rock, as well as blues, pop, and folk from all eras. The band’s original songs feature themes of love, hope, and courage among others. Gemini Moon blend these influences together into a playful, loving, and family-friendly musical space with balanced tones and mindful volume.
