Enjoy a tour through town in an air-conditioned Checker bus. Sit back and relax, meet a few entertaining historic characters, and learn from the tour guide along the route. Each summer the tours include something new, and delight locals and tourists as well. 90-minute tour departs from and returns to the MRHC. Tickets are $25, and on sale now! Dust off your lawn chairs and unpack your picnic blankets–Concert on the Steps is back! This summer, enjoy an all-star lineup of incredible performances right on the library historical steps. The Marquette Downtown Development Authority Board of Directors will be holding a special meeting on Thursday July 23, 2026 to review the proposed Fiscal Year 2027 budget. The special meeting will take place at the Marquette Commons, 112 South Third Street, beginning at 8:00 a.m. Public Participation There will be two options for public participation in this meeting: in person or written. Written comments can be submitted by emailing tara@downtownmarquette.org. Written submissions will be accepted until 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.

Tuesdays & Thursdays July (2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, 30), 2026.  11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  Peter White Public Library Lower Level Lobby.  PWPL is once again partnering with Feeding America West Michigan in the Gather2Grow summer meals program and will serve as a pickup site for shelf stable meals. Poet Laureate Marty Achatz; celebrated musicians Linda Smith and Seamus Collins (Big Lake Acoustic); actress Jacque Love; and actor Jim Edwards. This event will also be livestreamed. Sessions will include a combination of talks, seated meditation, and movement practices. The Ishpeming Carnegie Public Library’s (ICPL) Summer Reading Program is in full swing! We have been busy offering events for all ages and even hit record-breaking attendance at our programs in June! 2,203 people attended programs in June, nearly surpassing our ENTIRE program attendance for last summer in a single month.
