Silver Creek Church and Silver Creek Thrift are partnering with Feeding America West Michigan to host a Mobile Food Pantry. Distribution will take place at Silver Creek Church, 219 Silver Creek Road in Harvey, on Thursday, July 9. Food distribution will begin at 10:00am and continue while supplies last or until 11:30am. Food will be available for approximately 600 families. This will be a drive-thru event with directions given by parking lot attendants. Guests are asked to remain in their cars and have adequate space prepared in their trunk or back seat in advance to allow the distribution team to

Tuesdays & Thursdays July (2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, 30), 2026.  11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  Peter White Public Library Lower Level Lobby.  PWPL is once again partnering with Feeding America West Michigan in the Gather2Grow summer meals program and will serve as a pickup site for shelf stable meals. Candidates running in the August 4th Primary Election for the Marquette County Commission and the 96th District Court Judge will participate in two Public Candidate Forums conducted by the League of Women Voters of Marquette County on July 8-9. Please publish the following announcement and help us publicize the opportunity for voters to contribute questions, attend or watch the video of the forum. Also, if someone from your organization attends, either in person or via live stream, please consider reporting on the forum and the availability of video. If any questions arise, please let us know. Thursday, July 9, 2026, 6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m.  Peter White Public Library Shiras Room.  Adults, Seniors, Family Friendly. Join local poets, writers, and poetry enthusiasts for an evening of poetry. Noon – 1:00 p.m. Peter White Public Library Heritage Room.  Mediate Marquette and PWPL have collaborated to offer two weekly, in-person mindfulness meditation programs. Sessions will include a combination of talks, seated meditation, and movement practices.
