Books, songs, action songs, bubbles & parachute play, and more! Rain Location-Peter White Public Library Community Room. Children under the age of 8 must have an adult in the program with them. Mediate Marquette and PWPL have collaborated to offer two in-person mindfulness meditation programs each week this summer. Sessions will include a combination of talks, seated meditation, and movement practices. All individuals, regardless of previous experience or spiritual affiliation, are welcome to attend. Poet Alex Gubbins reads from his recently published collection, Decoding the Hill of Dead Kings, from Wayne State University’s Made in Michigan Series. Gubbins’ poems celebrate and elegize a life lived in two homelands—Michigan and Armenia—transforming sadness and longing into hope and wonder. July 4, 2026 11:00am Harlow Park The Freedom Monument podiums have been installed at Harlow Park (corner of W Washington St and N 7th St) within the Veterans Memorial Mall. A formal dedication ceremony will take place on July 4, 2026 at 11:00am as a part of the American Legion Post 44 Independence Day event. In addition to their commemorative function, the granite podiums will serve as a platform for ongoing education and civic engagement, offering space for community groups and classrooms.
