• Freedom Monument Installed At Harlow Park

    July 4, 2026  11:00am  Harlow Park The Freedom Monument podiums have been installed at Harlow Park (corner of W Washington St and N 7th St) within the Veterans Memorial Mall. A formal dedication ceremony will take place on July 4, 2026 at 11:00am as a part of the American Legion Post 44 Independence Day event. In addition to their commemorative function, the granite podiums will serve as a platform for ongoing education and civic engagement, offering space for community groups and classrooms.     The Northern Michigan University Department of Music will present a second season of Its series, Summer Concerts at Reynolds (SCR). This year’s events will all take place at 5 p.m. in Reynolds Recital Hall on Tuesdays in July and August. Admission is free, though donations will be gratefully accepted, with all proceeds benefiting the department to enhance the experience for students. This summer, SCR is highlighting music department faculty members, who are highly trained professional musicians as well as full-time educators. They will present both solo and group performances.
