Tuesdays, August (4, 11, 18, 25) 2026. 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Fridays, August (7, 14, 21, 28) 2026. Noon – 1:00 p.m. Peter White Public Library Heritage Room. Mediate Marquette and PWPL have collaborated to offer two weekly, in-person mindfulness meditation programs. HARVEY, MI – Silver Creek Church will host its annual Backpack SOS community outreach on Saturday, August 15, from 9:00-11:00 AM at Silver Creek Church in Harvey.   This year marks the 20th year Silver Creek Church has provided backpacks and school supplies to local children. The drive-thru event is open to children Pre-K through 12th grade. Children do not need to be present, and no pre-registration is required for this drive-thru event.   Each child will receive a backpack, age-appropriate school supplies, a pair of socks, a hygiene kit, and a voucher for three free outfits from Silver Creek

August 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th : 9 am – 1 pm At the Downtown Marquette Farmers Market, you will find over 70 vendors gathered to exhibit their locally grown, collected, and crafted products. Stop by the Marquette Commons every Saturday from 9 am – 1 pm to enjoy the local farmers, bakers, artisans, musicians, and more!   Also Wednesday Night Market August 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th 5 pm – 8 pm The Downtown Marquette Farmers Market will be turning the 100 block of W. Washington St. into a festive Night Market where you will find over 60 vendors

Visit the Old Victoria Historical Site on Sunday, August 16th to experience a piece of history at the 43 rd Annual Craft Fair. The free event will take place on the grounds of the historic copper mining village just outside of Rockland from 10 am to 5 pm EST. Three of the four restored cabins and the sauna will be open for self-guided tours free of charge for the event. As you step into the hand-hewn log cabins, you can see how the miners and their families lived. Tour guides will be available to share the history of the Victoria

In this new programming series, seasoned published authors of various genres lead participants through writing exercises and workshops to hone their writerly talents. August’s Writer: Jonathan Johnson. Celebrated poet/writer Jonathan Johnson leads a two-day generative writing workshop for all genres and skill levels of participants. Johnson’s work have been anthologized in Best American Poetry, published widely in literary magazines, and read on National Public Radio.  Space is limited to 15 participants, so register early.  No admission charge.  For
