It’s time to plant! With summer in full swing, the woods and meadows are alive with flowers. You can bring that natural beauty home by adding native plants to your yard. The Wild Ones Keweenaw Chapter is holding its late summer plant sale online at keweenaw.wildones.org. More than two dozen species are available, including scarlet bee balm, purple coneflower, and Jack in the pulpit, plus two different mini-gardens for monarch butterflies. Let’s Learn about Mushrooms for Baraga County Residents

Let’s learn about MUSHROOMS – Learn about local mushrooms with mushroom expert Angie!   Baraga county residents are invited to Join us for a two-day mushroom education event to learn about identifying, harvesting, and enjoying local wild mushrooms.   Day 1 – Classroom day, September 2, 2026 – Ojibwa Senior Citizens Center – Will learn about mushroom identification, harvesting safety, and nutritional benefits! Day 2 – Guided field hunt, September 3, 2026 – Location TBD – Join Angie to explore local forests and practice identifying mushrooms.   Attend either session or join for both! Native Plant sale by Keweenaw Wild One

Keweenaw Food Co-Op Hancock

The Keweenaw Food Co-op in Hancock will host a native plant sale by Keweenaw Wild Ones on Thursday, Sept. 3, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Over 30 different species will be available to suit a wide variety of growing conditions, from dry to damp and sun to shade. These plants support local wildlife, including birds, butterflies, and pollinators. Plants are priced at $3.50 each, or two for $6.
