Northern Michigan University Theatre and Dance will stage Ctrl+Alt+Delete, a darkly comic look at tech startups, speculative investment, and the value we assign to ideas in a rapidly evolving economy. The November meeting of the Houghton-Keweenaw Chapter of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel  (MARSP) will be held on Tuesday, November 4th at the Bonfire in Houghton.  The business meeting will begin at 12:30 pm followed by a buffet lunch.  The guest speaker will be Mike Lutz, Executive Director of Omega House.  All members are encouraged to attend.  Contact person – Steven Karpiak, 482-8455

Breakwater will also host an Information & Prep Session   November 4th at 6PM at the Portage Lake District Library.   This session will give students the chance to receive oneon-one guidance, learn pitch-building tips, and practice answering Q&A questions in a supportive environment — helping them feel confident and ready for the competition stage. City of Houghton Invites Community to Branding Working Sessions   The City of Houghton invites residents and stakeholders to participate in one of two public working sessions dedicated to shaping the future of Houghton’s community brand. The Lake Linden-Hubbell Public School will hold their annual Fall Parent/Teacher Conferences on Thursday, November 6, 2025. All students will be dismissed at 11:44 am. Hot lunch will not be served, but breakfast will be. Conferences for students in grades 6-12 are from 12:30 – 3:30 pm. and from 4:30 – 6:30 pm. Report cards may be picked up in the principal’s office located on the second floor of the high school. No appointment is needed for conferences for students in grades 6-12. Elementary conferences are made by appointment.

Keweenaw Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will present a public forum online titled “What Is Ranked-Choice Voting & the Michigan Rank MI Vote Ballot Proposal?” from 10:30-11:30 AM on Sunday, November 9. The speaker will be Lisa Nelson, a Copper Country League of Women Voters member and a member of the UP Rank MI Vote team.
