    The Keweenaw is getting a new stage this spring with the debut of Keweenaw’s Got Talent, a community talent showcase and fundraiser set for Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Rachel Marie Blau Memorial Theater inside the Hancock Community Hub. Inspired by the energy of America’s Got Talent, this first-time event will bring together music, dance, comedy, and creative performances from across the region in a wholesome, family-friendly setting. Guy Consolmagno, SJ, the former head of the Vatican Observatory, and now current head of the Vatican Observatory Foundation, with a specialty in meteorites, is a Jesuit brother who will come to both Houghton and Chassell for a series of presentations. He will be giving 1colloquium and 3 presentations for the public from February 19-21, 2026. His last presentation on February 21 st will be geared towards children and their families.     16th Annual CopperDog Race.   February 27th – March 1st, 2026 The race will start in Calumet, MI on Friday night.  It will run to Eagle Harbor then Copper harbor finishing back in Laurium on Sunday for the first time.  Additional CopperDog events will be held in Laurium on Saturday.   copperdog.org
