Copper Shores Outreach & Education is hosting CPR Training on Monday, August 17 and Monday, September 14 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Twin Lakes Volunteer Fire Department. Training costs $55 per person, with a maximum capacity of eight people. The American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED/Blended Learning training program includes first aid, CPR and AED instruction in a preliminary online course (that will take about two hours to complete), followed by a hands-on, in-person skills session with trainers that will take about two hours. Keweenaw Bay Ojibwa Community College is holding its third annual end-of-summer carnival on Thursday, Aug. 20, from 11 AM to 1 PM. The event will be held on the College’s Wabanung Campus at 770 N. Main St. in L’Anse. As always, this event is free and open to the public. Enjoy free food, family-friendly games and prizes, raffles, bounce houses for children of all ages, and more. Staff and faculty will be on hand to answer questions and assist with registration/applications for the Fall 2026 Semester. In case of rain, the carnival will move to Meadowbrook Arena.
