Wednesday, June 18th Primroses in the Garden: Primula and Companion Plants for Woodland, Crevice, Container, & Rock Gardens, presentation by Daniel Hendrickson 6:30 – 7:30 pm Calumet Public Library – Community Room Open to the Public Daniel Hendrickson, a retired music educator and plant enthusiast, has developed practical knowledge and experience by growing and cultivating his own plants for well over 25 years and he’s going to share some of his knowledge with you during this program.  Hendrickson will introduce you to the charm and beauty of Primroses in a presentation that highlights garden-worthy Primula and companion plants. Wilderness Walk Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at 7:00 pm Chassell Township Centennial Park The Wilderness Walks are opportunities to connect with God and each other in an outdoor natural setting.  Each walk has a leader who will guide the walk and stop along the way for readings and reflection.  The walks are appropriate for all ages including families and children. Everyone is welcome, no religious affiliation is necessary.

Soul Shop: Faith-based suicide prevention training set for June 26 The following press release was posted on our website on June 2, 2025.   Copper Shores Outreach & Education is hosting Soul Shop with the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Michigan on Thursday, June 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church in Houghton (245 East Montezuma Avenue). Soul Shop is a suicide prevention training program designed for leaders and members of all faith-based communities. The 1st Annual Pride Market will be held at The Orpheum Theater in Hancock, MI, June 29th, 1pm-6pm. Market-goers will find things from the practical to the fanciful, such as soaps, fresh produce, stickers, crochet plushies, art prints, books, baskets, garments, and more. Everything at Pride Market was drawn, grown, sewn, crocheted, designed, written, or otherwise made by vendors, and features a full lineup of LGBTQIA+ makers and small businesses.   Pride Market is an expansion of successful past events organized by local artist Gray Kotila.
