July 17th – Pasi Lautala Family:  Trio Tumpelot & Majority Finn   7pm at the Chassell Heritage Center   Trio Tumpleot plays folk and dance hall music from Finland and elsewhere.  The trio consists of Pasi lautala on accordion and vocals, Meg Pachmeyer on bass and Anna Gawboy on concertina.  Majority Finn consists of Pasi, Olivi and Ansel Lautala and Mag Pachmeyer playing Finnish music from the Last century to today, including originals written by the band members.

Canal Run celebrating 50th Anniversary in 2025 The Canal Run, a beloved annual tradition in Hancock, Michigan, is proud to celebrate its 50th anniversary this year. Since its inception, the Canal Run has brought together community members and visitors alike, fostering a spirit of health, wellness and camaraderie.   “We are thrilled to celebrate 50 years of the Canal Run,” Race Director Angela Luskin said. “This event has become a cornerstone of our community, bringing together generations of runners and walkers. July 24th – Mat Moore – Charles H. Worcester, Artist and Chassell Lumberman   7pm – Chassell Heritage Center   In the early 1900s, Worcester owned the Chassell Sawmill and maintained a summer residence until his death in the 1950s.  His main residence was in Chicago where he was a major benefactor of the Art Institute of Chicago.  This talk will explore his ties to both Chassell and Chicago.
