September is Library Card Sign-up Month! (ISHPEMING, MI) – This September, the Ishpeming Carnegie Public Library invites you to celebrate Library Card Sign-Up Month and discover how a single card can open the door to endless opportunities. Today’s libraries connect communities to information, inspiration, and each other. This year’s theme, “One Card, Endless Possibilities,” is a reminder that libraries are for everyone—no matter your age, background, or goals. Whether you’re diving into a new hobby, searching for your next great read, brushing up on tech skills, or helping your child succeed in school, it all starts with a library card.

The next general membership meeting of the Marquette Area Chapter of the North Country Trail will be September 2, Tuesday, at 6 p.m. in the Community Room (downstairs) at Peter White Public Library. This month’s program will feature a presentation by John Frick about his hiking adventure in the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan. Known for its monasteries, fortresses, welcoming people, and stunning landscapes, Bhutan is a destination few have the chance to experience. Tuesdays, September (2, 9, 16, 23, 30) 2025. 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Peter White Public Library Heritage Room. Mediate Marquette and PWPL have collaborated to offer a weekly, in-person mindfulness meditation program. The sessions begin at 6:00 pm followed by a period of fellowship. Dr. Debra Smith, a Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher and psychologist, will deliver brief talks exploring various aspects of meditation and its impact on our lives. These talks will take place on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays, while longer meditation sessions are scheduled for the remaining Tuesdays.
