A delegation of seven Higashiomi citizens will arrive in Marquette on July 19 and depart on July 29, 2026, Our seven delegates are the Deputy Mayor, a Higashiomi City Council member, Higashiomi City Staff, members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Higashiomi International Exchange Association, and Higashiomi citizens.     The annual Copper Country Rock and Mineral Club Gem and Mineral Show will be held again this year at a new location: the Hancock Middle School at 501 Campus Drive, Hancock, MI across from Portage Hospital.     401 East Fair Ave, Marquette, MI 49855   Dates: August 8, 2026 – August 9, 2026   The Ore to Shore (O2S) is the third largest point-to-point race in the Midwest, with riders gearing up at the start line in Negaunee, where in 1844 iron ore was first discovered in the Superior region. The long distance course travels through Ishpeming, past towering head frames from the heyday of underground mining, and then heads north into the beautiful wooded wilderness, crossing or running along side of the Dead River all the way into Marquette to the Lake Superior shoreline.   O2S
