    The Marquette Area Sister Cities Partnership is proud to announce the 2026 incoming delegation from our sister city Higashiomi, Japan, celebrating our 47th year of sister city relations. A delegation of seven Higashiomi citizens will arrive in Marquette on July 19 and depart on July 29, 2026, Our seven delegates are the Deputy Mayor, a Higashiomi City Council member, Higashiomi City Staff, members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Higashiomi International Exchange Association, and Higashiomi citizens.     Marquette, MI 49855   Dates: August 14, 2026 – August 15, 2026   The Marquette Trail 50 is an ultramarathon (a foot race with distances beyond the marathon distance of 26.2 miles) along some of Marquette’s most scenic and pristine trails.   The Marquette Trail 50 consists of a 50-kilometer and 50-mile event held on Saturday and a 5K and kids mile on Friday.
