    Houghton’s waterfront will come alive on Saturday, May 23 from 12 to 4 PM as the Locavore Festival returns to the Pier! Locavore celebrates the creativity, flavor, and talent of the Keweenaw. Nearly sixty vendors will line the waterfront with handmade goods, farm fresh products, small batch foods, and community organizations. This is all set to live music from Toni Saari and Matt Bradley. This year’s artist and maker lineup brings an especially vibrant mix of styles and specialties. The meeting will take place in City Commission Chambers at City Hall, and is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. As a reminder, most City offices will be closed on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day

Dr. Debra Smith, a Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher and psychologist, will deliver brief talks exploring various aspects of meditation and its impact on our lives.
