    HARVEY, MI – Silver Creek Church will host its annual Backpack SOS community outreach on Saturday, August 15, from 9:00-11:00 AM at Silver Creek Church in Harvey.   This year marks the 20th year Silver Creek Church has provided backpacks and school supplies to local children. The drive-thru event is open to children Pre-K through 12th grade. In this new programming series, seasoned published authors of various genres lead participants through writing exercises and workshops to hone their writerly talents. August’s Writer: Jonathan Johnson. Celebrated poet/writer Jonathan Johnson leads a two-day generative writing workshop for all genres and skill levels of participants. Johnson’s work have been anthologized in Best American Poetry, published widely in literary magazines, and read on National Public Radio.  Space is limited to 15 participants, so register early.  No admission charge.  For
