Wednesday, April 15, 2026:  4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.  Marquette Food Coop Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to register for a cooking class at the Marquette Food Coop. We will be making Mexican Sopes with refried beans and homemade salsa. This class is gluten free and vegetarian. Very hands-on! Wednesday, April 15, 2026.  Family Day 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Family Night 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.  Peter White Public Library Youth Services Room.  Families with youth of all ages, welcome to our brand-new monthly family themed drop-in library days! This month, come and enjoy family fun at game time! There will be games set up throughout the kids’ room for families with kids of varying ages. Wednesday, April 15, 2026.  6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.  Peter White Public Library Community Room. Adults, Seniors, Family Friendly. Folk group Mustard’s Retreat has been delighting audiences for 40 years. Learn about Libby and Superiorland Library Coop, library apps offered to patrons. Bring your phone or tablet and learn how to place and manage holds, renew items, and create reading lists. The first half hour will be an overview and the remaining time will be spent assisting with specific questions and answers. Make sure your tablet or device is charged, and you are signed into the PWPL Wi-Fi under your settings menu.

Thursday April (16, 23)  10:30 a.m.  Peter White Public Library Heritage Room. Thursdays: March 19; and April 2, 9, 16 and 19. 1-2 p.m CNAS Fire Site Pavilion The NMU Center for Native American Studies (CNAS) is hosting its Fire Site Storytelling Series on select Thursdays in March and April. These events are free and open to the public. This series features Anishinaabe winter storytelling, oral traditions and community discussion, supported and facilitated by the CNAS director, faculty and staff.  Remaining Fire Site Storytelling events will take place from 1-2 p.m. on the following Thursdays: March 19; and April 2, 9, 16 and 19. Powerful Tools for Caregivers, a six-week online workshop, designed for the non-professional, informal family caregiver, will be held on Thursdays, March 19 through April 23, from 1:30 – 3:00 pm (Eastern) via Zoom. Research studies find high rates of depression and anxiety among caregivers and increased vulnerability to health problems. Caregivers frequently cite restriction of personal activities and social life as problems. In addition, caregivers often feel a lack of control over events and a sense of powerlessness which can have a significant negative impact on their physical and emotional health. Thursday, April 16 3:30-4:30 p.m.  The Negaunee Public Library is hosting a building club. Youth ages 5 and up are welcome to participate in a weekly building club, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 16. Kids will discuss a topic that will be the focus of their creations, and then have time to build with blocks such as LEGO bricks. Participants can have their creations displayed in the library until the following meeting.
