The Ishpeming Carnegie Public Library’s (ICPL) Summer Reading Program is in full swing! We have been busy offering events for all ages and even hit record-breaking attendance at our programs in June! 2,203 people attended programs in June, nearly surpassing our ENTIRE program attendance for last summer in a single month. Thank you to our community for showing up and supporting our library in such a big way! We love offering so many events for you to enjoy, and we have SO many more planned throughout July and August. Music on Third will be making its return to the Third Street Corridor this month and will be bringing some needed changes to help make it a safer and more enjoyable event for everyone. The first Music on Third of 2026 is scheduled for Thursday, July 16th, from 6 – 9 pm. Streets will be closed beginning at 5:30 pm, with musicians located between Ridge St. and Prospect St. performing from 6 – 8 pm and musicians between Prospect St. and Kaye Ave. performing from 7 – 9 pm.

Thursday, July 16, 2026. 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.  Peter White Public Library Community Room. Adults, Seniors, Family Friendly. PWPL welcomes Dr. Barbara Mcquade, faculty member of the University of Michigan Law School, former U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan, and legal analyst for NBC and MSNBC. Tuesdays, July (7, 14, 21, 28) 2026. 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Fridays, July (3, 10, 17, 24, 31) 2026. Noon – 1:00 p.m. Peter White Public Library Heritage Room.  Mediate Marquette and PWPL have collaborated to offer two weekly, in-person mindfulness meditation programs. Sessions will include a combination of talks, seated meditation, and movement practices.
