The Iron Ore Heritage Recreation Authority (IOHRA) has been notified that the Negaunee Township Fire/Search & Rescue Department will conduct a training exercise on the Iron Ore Heritage Trail from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 15. The training will take place along the trail segment between the County Road 492/M-35 intersection and the Kalkaska Drive entrance to the Smith Construction quarry. The exercise will simulate the rescue and extraction of an injured trail user from a remote section of the Iron Ore Heritage Trail. As part of the department’s annual training program, the exercise is designed to
