10th annual Suicide Prevention Walk

The community is invited to come together for the 10th annual Suicide Prevention Walk on Saturday, September 12, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Ray Kestner Waterfront Park in Houghton. The walk aims to raise awareness about local suicide prevention, reduce stigma surrounding mental health and show those who are struggling that they are not alone.   Over the past decade, the walk has grown into a meaningful opportunity for community members to connect, honor loved ones and support one another. UP Wild Wilderness Walk

UP Wild in the Keweenaw would like to announce its upcoming monthly event. UP Wild Wilderness Walk – “Foraging with Faith” Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chassell (Gather at the campfire ring at the back of the northside parking lot.) The Wilderness Walks are opportunities to connect with God and each other in an outdoor natural setting.  Each walk has a leader who will guide the walk and stop along the way for readings and reflection.  The walks are appropriate for all ages, including families and children. No religious affiliation is necessary. Everyone is welcome!
