The Ishpeming Lions Club will host its second annual Fruit & Nut Tree Giveaway and Planting Demonstration on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Partridge Creek Community Farm Site located at 550 Cleveland Avenue in Ishpeming, Michigan. In this new programming series, seasoned published authors of various genres lead participants through writing exercises and workshops to hone their writerly talents. May’s Writer: Kathleen Heideman. An award-winning poet and environmental advocate, Heideman uses language to explore the fragile state of the human condition through creative written and artistic expressions.
